St Pete Masters Swimming: Our Privacy Policy
St Pete Masters Swimming (SPM) respects and protects the privacy of our members and users of this web site. Our privacy policy is set forth below.
What Information We Collect and How We Collect It
When you join SPM, we ask that you provide your name, gender, address, telephone number and birth date. This information is forwarded to our Local Masters Swim Committee, which then forwards it to our National Office (USMS). Our National Office compiles a data base from this information. The data base is required so that we can confirm registration for insurance purposes and so that we can assemble and compile USMS swimming records.
USMS will provide mailing labels with our members' names, addresses and telephone numbers to USMS sponsors upon their request. They will also provide mailing labels to LMSC's and member Clubs within our organization for a good reason (i.e., to distribute Zone meet information). In the past, they also have shared personal identifying information on a random basis in connection with USMS-approved medical research projects or marketing analyses; and they reserve the right to do so again in the future. SPM does not provide inform to sponsors although we do provide a member roster to the city of St Petersburg so that team members may have access to the city's pools for non-public team workouts.
On this web site (StPeteMasters.org), we provide some personal identifying information for the following individuals: members listed in the member directory, SPM Officers and members of SPM's Board of Directors. To be included in the member directory, an individual must notify us that he wishes to be included in that listing. Board of irectors and team officers are listed automatically on this web site and their names, addresses, and telephone numbers may be provided. We list only e-mail aliases on our web site. Other than members (who must affirmatively request to be included), personal information for local and national officers is provided to enable USMS members to contact them regarding USMS business. Finally, if you enter and compete in swim meets, results may be posted on this web site and those results may include publication of personal information such as your age.
We do not use "cookies" or any hidden means on our web site to gather any personal information.
